Learn English Language Say Frankly

The Indispensable Guide to Excellent Writing and Speaking

If you've ever had to endure the raised eyebrows of the self-proclaimed grammar police, then you'll appreciate this guide. Barrett is authoritative without the usual veneer of condescension.
I enjoyed his refreshing response to many of the pointless constrictions that most of us have grown up with.
it gives plenty of examples to contrast the acceptable with the incorrect, and explains what works (and why) in various contexts, from verbal sparring between buddies to the most formal occasions.
"Perfect English Grammar" will also be helpful to people learning to speak and write our potentially confusing mother tongue.
His goal is "to help you make the best choice for your situation without having to fear somebody will hunt you down and make fun of you because you did it your way instead of their way." As a professional writer, this is the grammar guide I'll keep close at hand.
