Question Types in English




Information Question 

 WH- question words are used to ask questions that require more information than just a simple yes or no answer. Here are some commonly used WH- question words:


What: Used to ask about things or objects. Example: What time is it?

When: Used to ask about time or a specific event. Example: When is your birthday?

Where: Used to ask about the location or place. Example: Where do you live?

Who    Used to talk ask about a person

Example: Who is your best friend?

Why: Used to ask for a reason or cause. Example: Why are you late?

How: Used to ask about a manner or method. Example: How do you cook pasta?

Which: Used to ask about a choice between options. Example: Which color do you like?

What is your favorite movie?
When did you start working here?
Where did you go on vacation?
Who is your favorite musician?
Why did you choose this university?
How do you solve this math problem?
